Land Reform as a Pillar for Nation-Building

Aug 17,2023

19 June 2023 marked 110 years since the promulgation of the Natives Land Act of 1913. More than a century later, land access, redistribution, and tenure reform remain elusive concepts.

Werksmans’ Land Reform practice area and expert lawyers in this area have remained at the forefront of national and international developments in legislation, policy and academia.

In our upcoming seminar, we will re imagine and focus on opportunities that lie ahead in the constitutional promise of land reform. We invite our valued existing and potential new clients to join us as we navigate the lay of the land and unpack critical developments in legislation, policy and case law. These developments relate to new tabled Bills regarding land reform, important court judgments, and the potential for reform within our existing legislative regime.

The topics covered in this seminar will be of great interest and value to anyone involved or interested in land reform, community relations, traditional leadership, and mining.

We look forward to welcoming you at this exciting seminar.
