Dale Adams is a Senior Associate in the Competition and Data Privacy Practice areas. He has extensive experience on various aspects of competition law such as, inter alia, merger control (in South Africa and Africa), market inquiries, cartels and other prohibited practices involving both litigious and non-litigious/advisory work. Dale also assists in competition compliance exercises as well as training. Dale also has extensive experience in other areas of regulatory law such as consumer protection, technology, franchising, trade and gambling. Dale Adams is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (cum laude) from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.

  • Obtaining of approval for mergers and takeovers from the competition authorities for small, intermediate and large mergers;
  • Initiating and defending of complaints of alleged anti-competitive conducts relating to, amongst others, cartels, abuse of dominance, excessive pricing and price discrimination and other restrictive practices;
  • Compliance programs and due diligence investigations;
  • General competition law advice
  • Obtain merger approval in foreign jurisdictions.

Data Privacy Law 

  • Compliance programs, e-learning and due diligence investigations;
  • Drafting of opinions in terms POPI;
  • Data privacy advice regarding data privacy law in various African jurisdictions; and
  • Advice in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act; and
  • Conduct research on various of data privacy law and draft articles for publications.
