Acted as the competition law advisor to Oxford Parks Proprietary Limited in relation to their development and sale of a new hotel in Rosebank, South Africa called the "Radisson RED Hotel Johannesburg, Rosebank". Competition law approval was required before the banks would provide funding for the construction of the hotel, which meant there were timing considerations in the structuring and implementation of the transaction
Competition law advisor to Food and Allied Workers Union ("FAWU") in relation to the large merger involving Simba Pty Ltd (a subsidiary of Pepsi Co., Inc.) and Pioneer Foods Group Limited. Dominique represented FAWU in the South African Competition Tribunal proceedings which was the first merger in which the merging parties had to address the Competition Tribunal on the provisions of the new public interest section in 12A(2)(e) of the Competition Act, No.89 of 1998
Advisor to Samsung Electronics South Africa Proprietary Limited on various competition law related matters
Provided competition advice to Prepaid Company Proprietary Limited ("TPC"), a wholly owned subsidiary of BLT, in relation to its acquisition of all of the shares in 3G Mobile Proprietary Limited ("3G Mobile"), which gave TPC control over 3G Mobile and its subsidiaries
Advised MacGlobal who acquired the remaining 50% of the total issued ordinary share capital of Macsteel International Holdings BV (registered in the Netherlands), an incorporated joint venture company on merger control legal regimes in relation to 97 jurisdictions in a transaction in the steel industry valued at approximately ZAR 3 billion
